Mrs. Noemi Torres from JFK Elementary

Mrs. Noemi Torres, from John F. Kennedy Elementary, was selected as Edcouch-Elsa Independent School District Elementary Teacher of the Year for the 2013-2014 school year.

Mrs. Torres has 20 years teaching experience and all 20 have been spent as a member of the John F. Kennedy Elementary family.  What a great honor for our district but most of all for our children – whom she inspires daily with her knowledge, patience and wit.  When Mrs. Torres was nominated the words that her colleagues chose to describe her were dedicated, honest, hardworking, loving, giving, team player, and dear friend.

Mrs. Torres’ love and passion for teaching has been planted in the minds and hearts of the numerous students that have had the privilege of having Mrs. Torres as their teacher.  Her love and patience is evident in the smiles of her students as they learn a new skill or conquer what seemed to be an enormous obstacle.  Her dedication is evident daily as she strives to ensure that her students experience success.

Her dedication, diligence and passion for education have inspired those that surround her making Mrs. Torres worthy of being chosen not only as John F. Kennedy’s Teacher of the Year by her peers but also as District Elementary Teacher of the Year for Edcouch-Elsa.

Congratulations Mrs. Torres!
