EE ISD Migrant Department was recently featured in a Univision Fox 2 story. Univision interviewed Mrs. Juanita Borrego, E-E ISD Parental Director. The story is in Spanish and has been translated below:

A group of teachers from the Edcouch-Elsa School District has decided to take the initiative to become full participants in their community.

Their freezer is filled daily with food for those students who can not get food for themselves.

The volunteer group works with organizations like United Way to meet the needs of the less fortunate residents.

Although this organization helps these low-income students, they are fighting for a much bigger goal. They seek to help those who do not have the resources to go to one of several food banks that are in the Valley.

The group says alleviating such problems in the community will give more opportunity to focus on what really matters; education.

If you would like to help this organization, you may call (956) 262-0151.
